Underway

With limited heel, a spacious and comfortable cockpit and hydraulic winches, Sojana is a pleasure to sail with either a full racing crew or core cruising crew onboard.

Being a water/fuel ballasted yacht, she can reach speeds of 25 knots in the right conditions, with her two tall carbon fibre Hall Spars masts maximising her powerful and varied sail inventory.

The ketch rig and comprehensive deck layout gave sailmakers North Sails a considerable challenge.

They worked closely with Sojana’s design team to create a sail inventory that optimises all points of sail.

After careful consideration of the relative wind speeds and angles that the yacht would experience, in addition to their interaction with the rig and hull, a basic cruising inventory of nine sails was established.

The large sail inventory incorporates 653.00m² of sail area upwind, constructed from North’s unique Spectra/Carbon laminated fabric and a massive 1486.00m² of sail area downwind, made from woven Nylon in various weights.

When cruising, the boat has two furling gennakers flown from the main and mizzen masts, which were designed for straightforward ease of handling.

The largest sail onboard is the powerful, stable and fast code 2 asymmetric. At 697.00m² its’ design utilises the very latest asymmetric technology.

Underway, Sojana is an extremely comfortable yacht to sail, whether experiencing the exhilaration on deck or relaxing down below. Her large sail area and ergonomically designed cockpit were engineered for maximum performance to enable exceptionally stable, but extremely fast cruising.
